VIDEO PRODUCER
20 weeks
20 hours per week for a total of 400 hours
$18/hr
Start date: July 5, 2021
Develop unique and creative short videos and micro-content for online platforms that complement (and extend beyond) television broadcast of the Let the Quran Speak
Assist the producer and team in all stages of the production process, including researching online platforms, developing production strategy, participating in story conceptualization/development, producing video/reel, editing and posting/broadcasting
Train and develop expertise with specialized equipment, e.g. gimbal
Record behind-the-scenes footage during shoots and b-roll footage around the city
CAMERA OPERATOR
20 weeks
20 hours per week for a total of 400 hours
$16/hr
Start date: July 5, 2021
Work with production team to plan and execute the technical aspects of producing Let the Quran Speak, including lighting and sound, camera movements and filming sequences
Participate in all aspects of day-to-day production, including setup and teardown of equipment; framing and composing shots; maintenance, cleaning and organization of equipment; hospitality services for on-air guests and talent; and support for other crew members
Develop expert-level proficiency with cameras under supervision of producer
TELEVISION WRITER
20 weeks
20 hours per week for a total of 400 hours
$18/hr
Start date: July 5, 2021
Storyboard and write content for various types of videos (explainers, promos and interview-style videos)
Research and develop interesting, creative and current story ideas based on solid grasp of Canadian and international current events relating to Islam and Muslims
Propose potential guests or contributors and collaborate with them in the development of content that aligns with the goals of Let the Quran Speak
Oversee the writing of diverse organizational development and marketing material, including letters, annual reports, press releases, blog posts, grant applications and sponsorship proposals
