RESIDENT SCHOLAR
Dr. Shabir Ally is President of the Islamic Information & Dawah Centre International in Toronto and an internationally renowned speaker, scholar and theologian. He holds a PhD in Islamic studies from the University of Toronto. For 35 years, he has been an active member of the Muslim community in Toronto and an avid participant in interfaith dialogues. He founded Let the Quran Speak in 2001.
Executive Producer / Host / Interviewer
Dr. Safiyyah Ally completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of Toronto in 2019. Her doctoral thesis was a reimagining of the legal protection of freedom of conscience and religion in Canada with the aim of more fairly protecting marginalized and minority perspectives, beliefs, and ways of life. She has served as host at LQS for nearly 10 years. She took on the role of Executive Producer in 2019. Safiyyah has conducted countless interviews with LQS guests. She regularly gives public talks and has been actively involved in several social justice and interfaith initiatives in Toronto.

Ilyas Ally
Magdi Omar
Ilyas was the first Executive Producer of LQS. He continues to contribute towards content development and strategic planning.
Magdi has experience producing religious programming in the Middle East for popular Muslim preachers Amr Khaled and Ahmed Al-Shaqiri. He provides hands-on training and technical advice to the production team.
PRODUCTION TEAM
Khaled Mansour, Producer/ Senior Editor
Khaled Mansour leads LQS’ production team. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration. Before coming to Canada, Khaled was a TV news producer in MBC group, the largest broadcaster in the Middle East. This passion resulted in over 10 years of combined experience in the media production industry. Khaled produced 5000+ hours of live shows with MBC group, Egyptian State TV Nile News, ONTV and Iris Media.
Abeer Qa’aty, Advisor/Graphic Designer
Abeer Qa’aty is an advisor, graphic designer and art director with over six years’ experience as a member of the executive team of LQS. Abeer specializes in multimedia technology and is responsible for the enhancement of the overall look of LQS. She graduated with an Honours B.A. in Film Production and Screenwriting from York University and has years of experience in film/video production for TV and online content, graphic design and digital communication.
Alex Elvidge, Writer
Alex Elvidge has a Master’s degree in Classics and Archaeology from Queen’s University and is currently enrolled in a scriptwriting program in Ottawa. She is passionate about writing engaging stories for diverse types of media.
Ehab Elhag, Camera Operator
Ehab Elhag ensures proper lighting and audio on set. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from China. When he is not working at LQS, he spends hours training in long jumps with the aim of competing in the Olympics.
Mazin Mohammed, Production Assistant/Camera Operator
Mazin Mohammed is the youngest member of the team and the most enthusiastic. A high school student, his energy and helpfulness on set inspire the rest of the production team.

Abdul Azim Azeez, Assistant Director
Abdul Azim is a mechanical engineer by training and works globally to provide digital solutions to industrial companies. Over the years, he has lived and spent time with Muslim teachers, judges and scholars, learning valuable Islamic creeds. He is a passionate member of LQS with the aspiration of reviving the sunnah and propagating the light of the Quran.

Nawal Salim, Camera Operator and Lighting Technician
Nawal Salim is an actress and filmmaker who completed a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Documentary Media from Ryerson University. She has a keen eye for detail and is the queen of wisecracks on set!
Mazin Mohammed, Production Assistant
Mazin is our youngest team member. A high school student, his energy and enthusiasm on set inspire the rest of the production team. He is quick to get every task completed and is a trusted hand to all.
